SUMMARY:ASLA | Superpowered Story Sharing: Getting More out of Picture Books with Lara Cain Gray
DESCRIPTION:Lara Cain Gray is a picture book activist who enjoys sharing fresh ideas for exploring this often underrated format. From the psychological benefits of using animals as characters\, to the socio-cultural connotations of food imagery\, picture books can be incorporated at all stages of formal education\, with both pedagogical and pleasurable outcomes. \nIn this session Lara will use concepts from her book – The Grown-Up’s Guide to Picture Books – to discuss getting more out of picture books in the library or classroom. \nThis event is pre-recorded and will be released on 2 April at 7.30pm. Pricing for this virtual event is $20.00 for members\, and $40.00 for non-members.
